Mosquitoes: why do they always strive on the same people?
This year, mosquitoes are particularly virulent. If there is one point on which we are not all equal, it is this: mosquito bites.
In 2013, an American study of Smithsonian Institute it has even been formally proven: mosquitoes have many preferences for certain skins. And according to the experts, everything would be a question of CO2. Because if we all emit naturally carbon dioxide, certain factors would influence these emissions that mosquitoes can perfectly detect.
Thus, they would tend to prefer pregnant women or more generally all those who have a higher body temperature, the latter emitting more CO2. " Mosquitoes have a highly developed olfactory system. They are attracted by certain smells, others repel them. But we know they are baited by CO2 emissions "explained Stéphane Robert, president of Vigilance Mosquitos.
Other factors influence the appetite of mosquitoes for this or that skin: diet, alcohol consumption, physical activity, breathing ... all these parameters influence our carbon dioxide emissions and our transpiration, transforming us or not into real prey for mosquitoes.
