I have always been active and I like to walk. The problem is that with an osteoarthritic knee, it became painful during and after exercise. So, I had a heavy hand on the anti-inflammatories, my stomach supported. But their effects have faded. The infiltrations of corticoids relieved me but not long. I tried injections of hyaluronic acid: no luck, I'm part of the 20% failure rate. A year to "tinker" to make the machine last, before the rheumatologist insists in 2012: the half-prosthesis was the solution to all my problems. I, who at 62, found myself a little young for that, I then understood that I should have had surgery sooner. No operative follow-up: no pain or complication. And I had a relatively quick rehab with kine, water aerobics and exercise bike, which I practiced more. So, in 2017, the first alerts, I offered my second knee half prosthesis! Since then, I found my freedom of movement, with only a few small pains in the first knee on a hike during downhill runs. "
