Rosacea: the good reflexes
This anomaly of the blood circulation in the face affects 5% of the population, with a peak from menopause in women with fair skin, who "turn red" at all times. Benign, the disease can become frankly unsightly when the redness gives way to dilated vessels on the nose and cheekbones, or even small pimples.
I track down imperfections
If you notice pimples that look like acne lesions and develop by pushing on the inflamed areas (in principle the central part that goes from the forehead to the chin and on the cheeks), you probably have a papulopustular rosacea. Talk to your doctor who will prescribe the application of dermo-cosmetic anti-redness treatments (creams tinged with green) and a laser treatment. This one allows to coagulate the blood vessels in three to four sessions in order to attenuate the colorations (200 to 400 euros per session, not refunded, but the results are visible). Papulopustular rosacea also requires antibiotic treatment in cream or orally.
I'm fleeing risky situations
Stress peaks, ingestion of hot and / or spicy foods or alcohol consumption promote the appearance of redness (or erythrosis) in the center of the face, on the wings of the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin, which is accompanied by hot flashes. This is the vascular form of rosacea, by far the most common. On the other hand, hypertrophic rosacea (5% of patients) results in red swelling of the tip of the nose and dilation of the sebaceous gland openings in this area. It affects men in priority. Contrary to popular belief, alcohol only promotes thrusts by heat stroke it generates. It is not the cause of this condition that is attributed rather to an immune dysfunction or hyperactivity of the blood vessels of the face. In both types of rosacea, it is recommended, besides the eviction of the favoring factors (alcohol, hot food, sun ...), the application of dermo-cosmetic creams anti-redness and laser sessions. For the hypertrophic form, if the drugs do not bring improvement and the patient lives his situation too painfully, surgery can remove the excess of damaged skin.
