Trends : Trendy hat 2021: focus on trends
What is the trendy hat for the spring-summer 2021 season? The great creators answer it.
Bucket hat, cap, straw hat, fisherman style hat and many more. The hat is part of the style and when it’s hot, it is better to have one! Not only for styling, but also to protect her hair and skin from the sun’s rays. Indeed, the latter are the first reason for the aging of the skin. Scroll down and find out what the hat trends are for the Spring / Summer 2021 season.
# 1. Trendy hat: oversized bowler hats at Nina Ricci
Hats featured heavily in Nina Ricci’s lookbook for the Spring / Summer 2021 season. The silhouette of the spring hat shown was an oversized bowler type. This is an eccentric fashion piece that would appeal to those with a quirky and unusual style! The bowler hats on display were in white, blue, neon green or lavender, but there were also models with interesting prints.
# 2. White Hat Gang at Thom Browne
This season, the Thom Browne collection was incredibly striking, with models looking all white in uniform layers. The hats contributed a lot for this unusual atmosphere since they were all crocheted in white wool. There were also brimmed sun hats, panama hats and bucket hats.
# 3. Fashion and politics at Christian Siriano
Christian Siriano surprised with his politically inspired collection. The flat, brimmed pleasure hats, especially when worn with dresses with old-school silhouettes and covered with the word “VOTE”, really remind us of the suffragist movement. Not all hats made an open political statement: others were just chic, in solid colors or fun prints.
# 4. Keep it casual with Céline
The Céline collection was presented in an outdoor stadium, so the models really needed the summer hats in the collection to protect them from the sun. The hats, like the clothing pictured, were sporty casual with a touch of luxury, including fabric baseball caps and floppy hats.
# 5. Buckets of charm at Etro, Philosophy, Anna Sui and Céline
We’ve seen bucket hats so often on catwalks and in lookbooks that we’re sure this will be the favorite summer hat for the New Year. From Etro’s ethnic-style bucket hats to the fun print and straw options of Philosophy, there’s the perfect bucket hat for everyone.
The Anna Sui collection also included bucket hats, making it one of the few spring 2021 hat trends. However, unlike Celine’s laid-back vibe, Anna Sui’s styles were feminine and comfortable thanks to the soft floral prints or crochet patterns.
# 6. Having fun in the sun at Zimmermann, Etro and Jason Wu
We haven’t seen a lot of straw or traditional sun hats among the summer 2021 hat trends, but luckily Zimmermann has always given us an option for the warm, sunny season. The collection consisted entirely of flowing holiday wear, easy to complement with chic brimmed straw hats. Each hat was decorated along the brim of the brim with a brown band, which gave the hats a more structured touch, ensuring they will go both in town and on vacation.
The Jason Wu collection also gave us wide edges with a relaxed touch. These soft bucket-sun hat hybrids were made of fabric and would likely suit more offbeat, casual street looks and high fashion gardening.
# 7. Visors at Fendi, Versace and David Koma
The last hat trend we noticed were visors, which showed up on the Fendi and David Koma tracks. Versace also showed off heavily printed wide-brimmed visors with scarf details wrapped around them.
At David Koma, the visors were quite sporty but with a touch of luxury to go with the tennis theme of the show, in a fabric cap design studded with crystals. At Fendi, the visors purposely looked more upscale, made of white fabric with an extra-wide brim.
The trendy hat in 2021 is the one that matches your style.
